Kent State alumna Courtney Flickinger, 鈥20, has been using communication skills to advocate for aging populations since her senior year of college. In 2019, she was a communications intern with Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities, and has since begun her career there as a communication specialist. My goal each year is to provide a transparent and informative report on the financial health of Kent State and to do so in language that is accessible to someone, say, like me, who has no formal training in budgeting nor accounting. By the end of this report, if we accomplish what we set out to do, you should have as good an understanding of Kent State鈥檚 annual budget and performance as I do.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Ortiz, Ph.D., as the Kent State Presidential Fellow, beginning fall 2022. As the Fellow, Dr. Ortiz will work with the divisions of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI); Academic Affairs; Research and Sponsored Programs; and the Office of the President in supporting the development of Kent State鈥檚 SEA Change action plan.
