Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony

Five 妻友社区 graduates will compete at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics over the coming weeks, breaking the school鈥檚 previous record of four Olympians at the Munich Games in 1972. The quintet will represent four different countries with Reggie Jagers III being the first Golden Flash to don the Team USA uniform since Kim Kreiner in 2008. The Canadian duo of Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes will be Kent State鈥檚 first alumni in action. KSU Fashion Student and Museum Intern Pierce Morgan was inspired by a purse he found in the Museum collection which had an assortment of personal items including a baby picture, Green Stamps, and a Christmas list.  He was intrigued by what stories and mysteries might be held in other bags and so he curated this display that helps us imagine.

This fall, 妻友社区 at Trumbull began offering Trumbull Correctional Institution incarcerated individuals a chance to complete a Bachelor of Technical and Applied Studies (BTAS). With substantial funding support from local foundations, Kent State Trumbull and LaunchNET Kent State will join Sinclair Community College (Dayton, Ohio) to complete this new 2+2 program partnership.   Sinclair has been offering an Associate in Business Management there for two years, so its first graduates were ready to begin working on their bachelor鈥檚 this fall.
