Kent State fashion design and business student Madeline Mehler's new clothing business, Sultrie, aims to add to the sustainable fashion movement.

These days, consumers can buy the latest clothing trends quickly and inexpensively. Critics, however, maintain that this 鈥渇ast fashion鈥 can be detrimental to the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 84 percent of unwanted clothes in the United States in 2012 went into either a landfill or an incinerator. A group of researchers in the College of Arts and Sciences at 妻友社区 have published a breakthrough article on new properties of liquid crystals in the May 27 issue of Physical Review Letters. Student nurses and faculty volunteering at the recent Canfield Fair 2017 from the 妻友社区 at East Liverpool.

Faculty members and students from the nursing program at Kent State East Liverpool volunteered during the recent Canfield Fair by conducting free blood pressure screenings at a booth sponsored by the Ohio Nurses Association, District Three, in the fair鈥檚 Medical Building.   The volunteer effort was initiated and organized by Angela Douglass, senior lecturer of nursing on the East Liverpool campus, assisted by Assistant Professor Diana Stewart.
