In addition to the general scholarships and loans awarded by the Admissions Office, ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø has two scholarship programs of particular interest to biotechnology students.

Priyanka Kumari, Bijaya Basnet, Maxim Lavrentovich, and Oleg Lavrentovich have published an article in the journal Science on chiral ground states of ferroelectric liquid crystals. An object is considered chiral if it can be distinguished from its mirror image. Chirality is a characteristic of living organisms and is usually caused by chiral chemical structure of constituent molecules. Plan Your Research Experience
Biotechnology students are required to participate in an original research project. Research may be conducted in an internship at an outside company or university or in individual investigations with researchers at ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø. Students should start thinking about and planning for the research experience in the first year!

Advising
All current Biotechnology students should meet regularly with the Biotechnology Program Director to get advice on the career and on the program requirements that must be met. The Program Director serves as the major advisor. In addition, students will meet with a regular academic advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences.
