Black Squirrel Scholars - A Literary Magazine

  There was no way the COVID pandemic was going to keep a group of students and faculty members from doing something they really wanted to accomplish this past academic year: publishing a literary journal to showcase the creative talents on the Salem Campus. Months of hard work and collaboration resulted in the online publication of Black Squirrel Scholars, a literary journal that features a collection of 52 works of poetry, essays, photography, drawings and graphics. In honor of 妻友社区鈥檚 virtual 51st Commemoration of May 4, 1970, new digital content for the May 4 augmented virtual reality experience is set to premiere. The May 4 augmented reality experience is designed to engage and immerse users as they journey through and reflect upon the events of May 4, 1970, the day the Ohio National Guard fired on Kent State students during an anti-war protest, killing four and wounding nine students. Members of the 妻友社区 community and people around the world will gather virtually for the 51st Commemoration of May 4, 1970, the day the Ohio National Guard fired on Kent State students during an anti-war protest, killing four students and wounding nine other students.  Catie Woodward is a third-year honors student from Canton, Ohio, majoring in nursing. Though she has had many other accomplishments in her time at Kent State, Catie鈥檚 most recent success was performing undergraduate research in the nursing program.As part of her nursing major, Catie had to complete research with a nursing faculty member and present her research at a podium presentation in December of 2020.
