              From 1941: Former Kent State President 鈥 KIDNAPPED!
In 1941, a writing exercise for high school journalists visiting Kent State was centered around a fictional kidnapping of the university's first president, John E. McGilvrey. In a pre-internet version of a "home page takeover," the stories ran on the front page of the Kent Stater - without including information revealing that they were not real!

              More Awards For Student Media at Acp/Cma National Convention
The Daily Kent Stater and The Burr both placed in the top 10 in 鈥淏est of Show鈥 at the Associated College Press/College Media Association (ACP/CMA) National College Media Convention last week in New Orleans.   The Burr placed fourth overall in the feature magazine 鈥
