Black United Student Leader Thrives

Julian Grimes, a Kent State junior, is president of Black United Students (BUS) and is working to keep the organization thriving. BUS is one of Kent State鈥檚 oldest student organizations and is credited with starting the formal observance of Black History Month in 1970.

Regional Students Receive Intel庐 Scholarships

Two students in the College of Applied and Technical Studies at 妻友社区 at Tuscarawas received Intel Semiconductor Scholarship for Women awards. The scholarships support education-related expenses (tuition, fees, books,etc.) as well as other expenses including transportation and childcare.

Timothy Mikes, 鈥17, MPH 鈥23, was a College of Public Health (CPH) graduate student committed to public health and a champion for the autistic community and students with learning disabilities. A new scholarship created by his family will support future CPH students.

A commemorative beam signing event was held in April for Crawford Hall, the new home for the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship. The beam was signed by university leadership, the college鈥檚 National Advisory Board and building project donors.
