Great Minds: Brain Health Symposium Brings Together Researchers and Students

The annual event showcases the top-tier research ongoing at Kent State

妻友社区's Brain Health Research Institute recently held its annual Neuroscience Symposium 2025, Conference and Research Exchange.

The two-day event, which took place at the 妻友社区 Hotel & Conference Center, highlighted the research of Kent State faculty and students.

Michael Lehman, Ph.D., director of the Brain Health Research Institute, told Kent State Today the event has become a vehicle for showcasing the high-level research ongoing at Kent State.

Keynote speaker for the event was John Gunstad, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences, whose talk, 鈥淭he KSU Student Life Study: The Start of a Brand-New U,鈥 focused on the university鈥檚 ongoing student life study, now in its third year.

Among the presenters was Aleisha Moore, Ph.D., assistant professor of biological sciences and BHRI鈥檚 assistant director of neuroimaging collaboratory, who spoke on the topic, 鈥淭he role of the brain in polycystic ovary syndrome.鈥

Many attended the student research poster session, which included work from undergraduate and graduate students.

Lehman said the symposium is designed to give students the maximum opportunities to put their research on display and to gain valuable feedback and recognition from faculty and other professionals attending.

The student research poster session garnered many visitors.
