Students in Kent State Ashtabula鈥檚 Associate of Applied Science degree program for Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) are developing and implementing 鈥楨very Moment Counts鈥 (EMC) program as part of their first fieldwork experience and creating the necessary EMC toolkit materials for Ashtabula city schools. Everyone鈥檚 favorite event is back. 妻友社区 Libraries will host its seventh annual Stress-Free Zone on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7. The event is open to students, staff and faculty from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room on the first floor of University Library. Personal items of Bill Schroeder, including his Eagle Scout Award and Boy Scout sash showing his merit badges, are on display in a new exhibition at 妻友社区鈥檚 May 4 Visitors Center called 鈥淏ill: An All-American Boy.鈥

Bill Schroeder was from Lorain, Ohio, and attended Colorado School of Mines on a ROTC scholarship before transferring to 妻友社区 to study psychology. He was also an Eagle Scout, musician and athlete. On May 4, 1970, the 19-year-old stopped to see what was happening on the Commons and then proceeded on his way to class when he was shot and killed by Ohio National Guardsmen responding to protests of the Vietnam War at Kent State.
